Conditions We Treat

Here are the conditions we treat at Hanson Chiropractic Center in Edmond. Most people find us because something hurts, whether the pain sits in your low back, your neck, your head, or a joint. A good exam leads to the right plan for each one. So choose your concern below to read how we approach the problem. If you don't see your concern, call us. We're happy to talk through your options before you commit to anything.

Back, neck, and head conditions we treat

Back pain, sciatica, neck pain, and headaches bring in most of our patients, so those come first.

Low back pain and sciatica

Stiff joints, tight muscles, and irritated nerves all send pain through your lower back and down your leg, which is why an exam comes first. After the exam, our chiropractors recommend a plan, often gentle adjustments with decompression, laser therapy, or massage. The American College of Physicians lists spinal manipulation among its nondrug options for low back pain. See our back pain and sciatica treatment in Edmond.

Neck pain and stiffness

Hours at a screen, a rough night's sleep, or an old injury leave your neck sore and stiff. Sometimes the pain travels into your shoulder or arm. First, we look at your neck, upper back, and posture together. Then we build a gentle plan. Read about our neck pain care in Edmond.

Headaches

Many tension headaches start in tight neck and shoulder muscles, so we check there first. Pain at the base of the skull, a stiff neck, and headaches after long desk days often point to the neck. Learn how we approach headaches in Edmond, and when to see a physician first.

Joint and extremity conditions we treat

Chiropractic care reaches well past the spine. Because each joint relies on its neighbors, we look at the whole chain. Our joint pain overview covers every joint and sports injuries. For one area, go straight to the page you need.

Reaching overhead, sleeping on your side, and carrying groceries all get harder with shoulder pain. So we check your shoulder, upper back, and neck together.

Gripping, twisting, and lifting wear on the tendon at the outside of your elbow. Our page on tennis elbow and tendinitis explains your options. Also, a 2026 review of randomized trials found shockwave reduced pain in most tendon conditions, and results vary by condition.

Tingling, numbness, and a weak grip often start where a nerve gets squeezed at the wrist. Read about carpal tunnel and wrist pain.

Stairs, long walks, and getting out of a chair tell you a lot about your joints. So we cover knee and hip pain and plantar fasciitis and heel pain on their own pages.

Whole-body concerns we help with, alongside your doctor

Some concerns reach past muscles and joints. Your doctor stays in charge of your medical care. Instead, we offer gentle care for the physical strain which comes along with them. Then read about stress and muscle tension, sleep problems, fatigue and low energy, digestive discomfort, and allergies and asthma. Each page explains where we fit.

How we care for the conditions we treat

Every plan starts with an exam and a conversation. Then we choose from gentle chiropractic adjustments, decompression therapy, Class IV laser therapy, shockwave therapy, and massage therapy, based on what we find. We explain every step in plain language, and results vary from person to person.

We welcome patients from Edmond, North Oklahoma City, Deer Creek, and nearby communities. Fill out your new patient paperwork ahead of time, meet us on our team page, or take a look inside on our center tour.

Family care and more concerns we help with

Our newest pages cover care for moms, babies, and kids, plus two whole-body concerns. Each one starts with your doctor, and we work alongside them. For new moms, read about nursing and postpartum care. For babies, see our page on colic and fussy babies. For older kids, we wrote about bedwetting in children. We also cover depression and chronic pain and high blood pressure. Chiropractic care doesn't treat these conditions, so each page explains where gentle care fits and when to see your doctor first.

Questions about the conditions we treat

What conditions does a chiropractor treat?

At our office, we treat low back pain, sciatica, neck pain, headaches, and joint pain in the shoulder, elbow, wrist, knee, hip, and foot. We also help with the muscle and joint strain which comes along with stress, poor sleep, and allergy season, always alongside your doctor.

How do I know if you treat my condition?

Call us at (405) 341-0494 and describe what hurts. Then a short exam shows what's behind your pain. If your concern needs a different provider, we tell you and point you in the right direction. We'd rather send you to the right place than guess.

What happens at the first visit?

First, we ask about your pain, your history, and what you've tried. Then we examine the area and how you move. Before you leave, we explain what we found and what we recommend. Fill out your new patient paperwork ahead of time to save a few minutes.

Which treatment will I get?

Your exam decides. Most plans pair gentle adjustments with decompression, laser therapy, shockwave therapy, or massage, based on what we find. Every person responds differently, so we take things one visit at a time and check your progress as we go.

When should I see a doctor first?

Get medical care right away for chest pain, trouble breathing, or sudden weakness. Do the same for numbness in your groin, loss of bladder or bowel control, or back pain with a fever. Call 911 for severe symptoms. Otherwise, we're glad to see you.
